      PCM2,

Why each and every one ask for NEW (in place of Faulty)… is every one facing issue with… if so….isn’t it mean that they are Producing Faulty Units or some faults are developing after some time due to bad quality hardware… let’s stop here…

Like you, I too not prefer to waste my time behind …. , but I surely INVEST my time to share my experience on each & every forum where some innocent buyer asking or planning to by Good Brand Monitor.

…and I’m sure LOTS of people will able to Judge GOOD BRAND after reading my post/advice.

      Thanks 🙂

With respect, you’re judging a brand as ‘bad’ based on an experience (i.e. being offered a refurbished unit) that would be repeated across all other brands. And indeed you haven’t even seen it through to its conclusion, which may end up satisfactory. Dell have rightfully built up a reputation for themselves as one of the better brands for customer service and dealing with issues promptly and effectively should something go wrong. It’s a shame that your own experience with Dell India doesn’t reflect that, but as I’ve explained this is not the place to talk about such things. Consider this your final friendly reminder.

Thank you, I just asked the store and they don’t have HP Pavilion 22xw 21.5

Now I am waiting for BenQ GW2270. Is it a new update of BenQ GW2250 that i saw a girl took in the first page. ( I think I and she only have different size.

Just to let you know I ended up buying GW2450HM and so far I am very happy with my eyes at the end of day.

If it still does not fit my eyes then how do you rate about S24E360HL (i don’t know what Panel Type PLS is , seems good )

Unfortunately, they don’t have latest HP models , I had a bad experience with LG monitors (although I had a TV LG display on my home)
They have Dell, AOC, Phillip, BenQ, and Samsung at now.

How do you rate their brand for keeping eyes reading?

          PCM2

Yes, the GW2270H is an updated version of the GW2260HM which is itself very similar to the GW2250HM. The S24E360HL is just a white version of the S24E390HL which is recommended throughout this thread. The review will give you a good idea of what to expect, but essentially the answer is yes it is a good model for viewing comfort.

              Thanks for all your advising,

At now I’m more happy with this new monitor than the old, LG TN panel.

There’re just 2 small issues that I wonder
              1. At the top left corner of the monitor, I saw a larger space between the edge and the screen panel than other 3 corners —> you can check at my video. (being uploaded)

At that time, it doesn’t make any trouble
But I wonder is it a small error when they manufactured it in the factory when they screwed the 4 corner panels. One is looser than others so it made a different space between the edge and the screen panel .

              2. The plugs is required 13A and 250V but in my country it only has 220V and a plug socket 15A , does it harm my monitor?

              PCM2

With broad-bezel monitors like this there is often a fair bit of ‘float’ for the panel itself, which means the panel may become decentralised to reveal more panel border in some regions of the screen than others. I’m not sure how common this is with this particular model – if it’s only a small difference and it isn’t bothering you, I’d just leave it. I can’t answer your second question I’m afraid as it’s not really my area. Might be worth shooting the question to BenQ.

                  ***UPDATED***

Since last 3 days, I have used this monitor. It does not make my eyes pained but it makes my eyes ache, red irritation and dryness. I feel headaches and dizziness.

SO I GOT A BLOOD EXPERIENCE, never trust anything except you have to experience yourself. It may be because of biological structures.

I just want to say WTF?? after reading a lot of conversation and switch from TN to latest VA panel but it is still not solved.

So I think about my old Laptop that I am using as an alternative, it is Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E50
I can work with it several hours without any issues.

Does anyone know which type of this panel is? Can i find a similar Lenovo brand monitor lookalike this?

Thank you so much. My head is stunning

P/s: I can’t work recently because of this monitor, and they don’t accept another refund :((. I think the reason it may be:
+The setting preference for gamma, phase
+The brightness which is 250cd/cm2 is too high for my eyes high sensing
+Because The plug is required 13A and 250V but in my country it only has 220V and a plug socket 15A , so according to my guessing It will be increasing the brightness and gamma temperature?

                    JayCarrick,

I’m sorry to hear that the GW2450HM didn’t work out for you. There are a huge number of factors that could cause this and everybody has different sensitivities to them. Just some are discussed here. The brightness is only 250 cd/m2 if you’re using the monitor at a brightness of ‘100’, which I’m sure you’re not?! The image quality would in no way be affected by the electricity supply. That dictates whether the monitor works or not, it does not change how it displays the image. You should also experiment with the ‘Low Blue Light’ settings as you may find them more comfortable.

Instead of yelling, i have to save myself. Here are two monitors I have used for 10 years
                      1. Samsung syncmaster 940n
Lol, the first is a TN panel with 300 cd/m2 but i dont get any pain or issues, i used to it watch movies , it’s very good. hix so regret now it’s error

                      2. it is Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E50
I can work with it several hours without any issues.(double hours reading compared to Samsung 940N) but does anyone which specifications? it is attached to laptop so i dont know exactly.

I just realized that every time i press any keyboards then it’s flashing continously.

It may be the reason my head is stunning. How do i fix it?

That issue has nothing whatsoever to do with the monitor, but does look visually very distracting indeed. You’ve managed to capture it with a video fed directly from the GPU, so the monitor is not influencing things. Does this only happen on the web browser or also on other applications?

I am considering begging them to change this monitor again, can you know the monitor of thinkpad e50? i query google but i dont see

I’m quite confident that you need to fix the juddering issue which as I’ve said is nothing to do with the monitor. I can’t help you with that, it’s not my area. I’ve also made a number of suggestions to you on the previous page which you seem to have ignored. Forget trying to match a monitor panel type with that of the Thinkpad, it’s a fruitless excercise given the vast number of other variables.

Sorry, but how to exactly the juddering issue?

When I dont mention the low blue light then it means i tried and it’s useless :((

I think it’s the best option when i’m looking for the Lenovo manufacturer to find exactly what model monitor used in Lenovo thinkpad E50

The ‘juddering issue’ is just what I called what you presented to me earlier in that video. Where the content of the screen appeared to bounce around as you typed. I have no idea what this was, but it is nothing to do with the monitor and is not something I can assist with.

And I’m afraid I can’t make myself any clearer on how pointless it is simply chasing after the panel type of the laptop and assuming that will correct all of the issues. It is likely IPS or TN, very unlikely VA. But there are far too many variables here, especially with this ‘juddering’ issue as well that is indepdenent of the monitor.

JayCarrick can you tell me what gpu you are using? what drivers version for gpu? when did you last updated the gpu drivers and method? what wire are you using to feed the monitor? what monitor resolution you are using? What operating system?

Things like these might help us understand any problems other than monitor if there are?

                                      Hi,

                                      Please receive my greetings!

I have been studying the monitors, and it seems that it is really difficult to pick the best one. I would like to choose a monitor that is good for my eyes, and the more I read online about monitors, the more I get confused. I am a researcher, and need to read lots of academic papers everyday, and I also need to write codes from time to time. Sometimes I use it to watch movies. I usually use my computer/monitor more than 10 hours a day.

I have been looking at 27″ monitors, and I am considering Eizo EV2750, Eizo 2736W, Dell U2717D. Then I find this forum and BenQ BL2710PT, and some AOC monitor. Then I get confused. Would you kindly recommend some 27″ monitors that are best for eye protection (needn’t consider price)? any brand and model will be fine. And how do you rank and compare the models I just listed? Thanks.

I am not so sensitive to the price, and willing to pay the price to protect my eyes. But say, if Eizo EV2750 is just like BenQ BL2710PT in terms of eye comfort and protection, I would rather buy BenQ.

Your kind help is very much appreciated!

                                        Hi Yong,

There are several threads on this topic already, including this massive one which I’ve merged yours with. There is really no need to spend more than is necessary if viewing comfort is your main goal, as the important aspects (consider this list) are no different on those EIZO products than cheaper alternatives. To that end you should instead consider some of the models featured on the recommendations section, such as the Dell U2715H. The U2717D is no better or worse for viewing comfort and will actually give you a very similar experience, so certainly consider that one strongly as well.

                                            Hi
I want to get a extra monitor for my laptop as an extra display.
I never had a monitor before as I always use my laptop with 13.3 inch screen lol.
So I dont really know what to get and hope you guys could help me out a bit.
The main purpose for the monitor will be for movies and anime, but depending on how I feel with it I may use it for some text editing, web browsing, basic photoshop and some coding. (dont know yet because I never had a big monitor before lol)

The thing is, I sit a lot with my laptop/computer daily. I have really really bad eyes/eyesight and my eyes gets tired/fatigue/strain really quick. Is there some monitor better for eyes ?
The price is around 240 usd, I can also buy 2nd hand, so does not need to be brand new.
Which monitor will you guys recommend me ? What is the best monitor for around 240 usd ?

I would like the monitor to be bigger than 20 inch
I have read a little and I think IPS or PLS are the go ?
                                            Also flicker-free is a must?
I would like the monitor to have at least a hdmi or a displayport.
It would be good if you could change the high for the stand, but thats not necessary, then it must have VESA so I could buy a third party stand/mount.
(1080 resolution?) Afraid that bigger resolutions would make everything so small and I cant see xD but I dont know….

I was looking at a 2nd hand dell u2412m for really cheap but heard its random with flicker free units, so skipped it.

                                            I was thinking about a brand new dell s2415 + 2nd hand u2415 stand. (240usd).
Or I could buy a brand new dell u2414 for 265usd . Is the u2414 better than s2415?

I also missed a refurbished dell u2415 for 275usd but dont know if its better than u2414 or whats the difference…..

                                            I could also get a 2nd hand eizo ev2336 for around 260usd…..

I was also looking at a brand new Samsung s23e650d for 190usd (this one have eye saving mode?)

Anyone know if those are good monitor or if u could please recommend me some monitors for my needs
