Hey guys, i would be happy if you suggest me a few options for monitors. 27″-28″ is perfect for me. My budget is 500eur max, but considering lower ones if i have options. I will play with the new Call of Duty MW3 and new FIFA most of the time, but somethimes i like to enjoy story games (Ghost of Thushima, RDRR2 etc..)and their amazing details..i never had any good looking setups until now as i have the money now to buid one, so i would like to enjoy the gaming now as much as i can.

      Actually thinking on:
Samsung Odyssey g7 ( because 4k+120hz+hdmi2.1 sound really a good option)
Or a more budget one is the :
      Gigabyte M27Q(x)

Should i stick to 4k on 27″-28″, or go for 1440p and better image quality? HDR (not the fake ones)is a must if i want incredible experience? Is it worth the extra cash
Im not an expert, only spent a few days lloking, watching videos from youtube but most of the tests re like chinese for me..If you have any of these monitors or some other good options please help me
      Thanks 🙂

        Hi revex,

I’ve merged your thread with an existing one covering this topic. You can also see specific recommendations here. With your budget in mind you should forget about the HDR experience, based on models I can recommend within your budget none are ones you’d buy for a compelling HDR experience. The choice of resolution is quite personal and depends on the games you play – with a wide spread of games including some story driven ones, you may enjoy the superior pixel density of a ‘4K’ option. How much you’ll appreciate this coming from a 1440p option depends on viewing distance, your eyesight and simple subjectivity. It’s something I personally find rewarding for gaming and you do certainly have some ‘4K’ options available within your budget. If you’d really prefer to spend a bit less and you’re unsure that you’ll really enjoy the resolution, you are likely to be satisfied with something like the Gigabyte M27Q. Which remains a good option for the price with wide availability.

From that distance I certainly feel the ‘4K’ UHD resolution will be worth exploring.

Nice, im almost done 🙂 i know now that i can forget HDR and should go for 4k, you helped me a lot! What monitor do you suggest?

I have a few options as i see

              Gigabyte M27U
              Gigabyte M28U
              Samsung Odyssey G7 28″
              Or any others?

I’d recommend the Gigabyte M27U (I hope to be reviewing it shortly). It’s simply a well-rounded monitor and it can at least offer something above the basic HDR experience with extra bursts of brightness in places. Although I wouldn’t buy it for its HDR experience, it can be nice to use it from time to time for some variety as it gives a different look to games and does still bring with it some benefits. It also offers a response time setting that will work well for you at both 60Hz and 120Hz (and between those, when using VRR) – so you don’t have to keep switching the setting. And actually, the M28U doesn’t perform very well at 60Hz regardless of how you set it up due to quite strong inverse ghosting (overshoot), as discussed in this thread. The G70B doesn’t perform well at 60Hz due to having high input lag and has the typical Samsung issue of dodgy firmware and some reporting weird flickering issues.

I just checked. The M27U in my country is +100euro..so hard to decide. You think the m27u is that much better than the samsung ? If the samsung is not trustable, i will pick the m27u. If im 100% sure that the m27u is better i will buy that one. I want a proper, trustable monitor.

Yes, I would pay the premium for that over the Samsung.

New 160Hz 4K flat VA proposition for console gamers with HDMI 2.1 and variable overdrive.
                      Asus TUF Gaming VG32UQA1A.
