      Hello,
I had eye surgery about 6 years ago and unfortunately I have side effects after that, especially my eyes are very light sensitive. For example when background of the page on the screen is very bright like white it’s harder for me to read it. Generally I’m oversensitive for bright light not only from monitor. I’m programmer and it makes my life so much harder. I’m currently using Eizo EV2450 on around 20% brightness.

Could u advise me a better monitor than I have to make me life better or anything to help me?
Thank you for all advices in advance. You’re saving my life!

        Hi Michalru,

Did you have a size, resolution preference and budget in mind? The Eizo EV2450 at 20% brightness sits ~60 cd/m² which quite a few models will provide including several we recommend.

Hello, my only preference is that it would be better for me considering my oversensitive eyes. And not on the same level as my EV2450 because there would be no point in replacing it. Budget is unlimited.Thank you.

There are many factors beyond brightness affecting viewing comfort, so it is difficult to give general recommendations that are guaranteed to be comfortable. The Dell S2722QC is worth exploring as it has a nice low minimum brightness (~35 cd/m²) and ticks various other boxes such as tight pixel density (scaling can be used if desired), good glare handling and an effective ‘ComfortView’ Low Blue Light (LBL) setting which you might find relaxing.

Thank you. What about Asus eye care technology or BenQ monitors? And is my Eizo EV2450 good monitor for my eyes and my photophobia? 🙂

If you find it comfortable then yes, the EV2450 is a good monitor. That’s the litmus test and as I said there are many factors to consider. ASUS and BenQ are particularly active in marketing their ‘technologies’, but they’re pretty common across multiple monitor brands and there’s nothing unique or special about what is offered on those models vs. others. Having said that I do like how BenQ’s LBL settings are tuned, as I mentioned in that thread I linked to on the topic. The BenQ PD2705U featured as a recommendation for colour-sensitive work and the cheaper PD2705Q we’ve reviewed (also featured as a recommendation) are good BenQ models to consider with this in mind.
