Our review of the Gigabyte MO27Q2 is now live. This is a 26.5″ 2560 x 1440 (1440p QHD) QD-OLED monitor with the usual glossy anti-reflective screen, 240Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 and KVM functionality. This model is aggressively priced in the UK and various EU countries, but performs very well overall and has nice build quality in my view. It has a ‘solid feeling’ to the coated metal stand and I appreciate the low-profile design of the stand base. There are plenty of OSD options, a well-tuned sRGB emulation mode (though adjustability there is limited) and an HDR experience tuned towards good brightness even in high APL (Average Picture Level) scenes where bright shades dominate. There’s a bit of an uplift to many shades, including for dark atmospheric scenes, but this will suit some preferences and works well if you’re not sitting in a dark room.

I think the monitor offers a lot for the money in regions where it’s aggressively priced, but the US pricing is a bit steep (~$700 USD at time of review). The AOC AGON PRO AG276QZD2 is priced around $570 USD and offers broadly similar performance. The Gigabyte has an edge in build quality in my view, it features HDMI 2.1, USB-C and KVM. The Gigabyte is also better if you like a ‘brightened’ HDR performance. Or if you’re using a games console so you can’t counteract the weird underuse of the gamut under HDR on the AOC. The 120Hz ‘4K’ UHD downsampling capability of the Gigabyte can also be attractive for console gaming. In summary I’d say; if you’re happy with the price I consider the Gigabyte a strong choice.
