What are the odds that if i ask for a replacement of the same model, the new one also ships with stuck/dead pixels?
I don’t wanna keep sending stuff back again and again until a faultless unit arrives

I’d expect models with pixel defects to be a minority, so there should be a good chance the replacement is free from defective pixels. Unless somehow Gigabyte AORUS QD-OLEDs are exceptionally bad in terms of QC.

Aren’t the QD-OLED panels all made by Samsung?
So the risk of getting another defect should be the same regardless if i buy the same model or from a different brand, right?
Right now i’m afraid of buying something again.

Yes they’re all made by Samsung Display and they’ll perform some QC checks on the panel. But they won’t chuck away a panel with what they consider to be minor pixel defects and it’s up to the monitor manufacturer to perform additional QC.

So, returned the Aorus FO27Q2 and bought the MSI MAG 271QPX (360hz)
So far so good, even tho i can’t update the firmware because i don’t have any device with Display Port
No big deal and doesn’t bother me much, since everything seems to work well.
Saw your 321URX review, and is it wrong to really like the look of the Premium Color mode? It’s really saturated and I enjoy it. The User mode is very washed and pale. Don’t know what’s going on thereAnyway, sent you another donation as a thank you for your help and patience

I’m glad the MSI is working out better for you so far and I appreciate your donation. π You should certainly feel free to use ‘Premium Color’ if you prefer the oversaturated representation it gives. Just be aware that it will be crushing some saturated shades together as it’s dragging shades closer to the edge of the gamut (this can be demonstrated on this test by looking at some of the shades shown towards the right side of the gradients).
The monitor definitely shouldn’t appear “very washed and pale” if you don’t use that setting, though. Are you sure you don’t have Windows ACM active, an alternative sRGB emulation method or perhaps ICC profile loaded?

Found what the issue was. Color channels were all set to 50
“User” looks a lot better now

Got perhaps a last question unrelated to any of that
I’m using the monitor with a PS5. When i turn HDR on/off on the console, or V-Sync on/off on the monitor, is it normal that it shows a black screen (or turns off, hard to tell) for a few seconds?
And could it possibly be harmful to the monitor? Like getting dead/stuck pixels as a result
Thanks a lot once again

Itβs entirely normal that it (or any monitor) will re-establish a signal when switching between VRR and non VRR or HDR and non HDR operating modes, yes. Itβs in no way harmful to the monitor.
