      Hi,
Need some help with purchasing a new monitor.
Currently using a Gigabyte M27Q with a desktop and a laptop that uses 65W PD.

Overall, like the monitor; SIMPLE KVM button and auto switching between devices (shared mouse, keyboard and speaker) but only 15W PD creates the simple inconvenience of having to plug in another USB Type-C to power the laptop fully. So looking for something ‘better’

      Requirements
      – 1440p to 4K
      – 120Hz+ refresh rate with VRR (use AMD card)
      – 27″ to 32″
      – SIMPLE FUNCTIONAL KVM with at least 3 downstream Type A USB 3.0 ports
      – USB Type -C with DP-Alt mode and PD of 65+W minimum
      – Display Port 1.4 minimum

      Preferred
      – Flat (will consider curved)
      – DP 2.0
      OLED/IPS

No, this is not being used to game heavy on, but the high refresh rate has spoiled even in windows.

      THANKS!

        Hi mmmgt,

Many gaming monitors are unfortunately cursed by low Power Delivery (PD) USB-C, it seems almost an afterthought or box to tick off on a spec sheet or in marketing material. A possible option is the Acer X32 FP, which we recommend for gaming and movies but which really is a great all-rounder if productivity is a focus. It features 90W PD USB-C an 4 USB 3.0 ports and ticks most of your boxes. As I understand it if you have the ‘USB Port Select’ option on ‘Auto’ then it should switch over the USB upstream port (Type-B or Type-C) used for data transfer automatically. And that should correspond to the input you’ve selected, which is easy to do on that monitor as it can be assigned to a ‘Hot Key’ so you don’t need to go through the menu.
