Hi, I just found this great site… I currently use a HP Pavilion 27xi monitor which is GLARE. I have been looking for a >= 27″ replacement that is ABSOLUTELY GLARE. I looked at the list in the table but they are all OLED and very expensive. I don’t want to give up a kidney to buy a monitor so I am looking for a GLARE monitor under $300. Is there any such thing?

Hi Cabreo,

Despite some clear (pun intended) advantages to ‘glare’ (or glossy) screens which some will find outweigh the downsides, unfortunately the only models I’m aware of using these in the mainstream segment are OLED. Perhaps the manufacturers will pay attention to the largely positive reception that glossy screens have received recently in the OLED space and will consider some glossy LCD panel production, but I’m not holding my breath. 🙁
