I’m currently using Dell S2721DS, I like this monitor overall, sadly the response times are not that well adjusted. “Normal” = too much motion blur, “Fast’ = too much overshoot (kinda same as U2724D, but slower), even my old 11 year monitor Phillips has better response times at “Faster” (Off/Fast/Faster/Fastest).
So I’m wondering if they actually bother “fixing” this in S2722DC or SE2723DS?
I don’t mind 6 ms or 7 ms but with less overshot/blur than the unusable 4 ms option, even the 5 ms is bad.
But I really doubt that, maybe it’s not that simple as adding more overdrive options… or adjusting them a little bit more precisely.looking at their website – all the monitors share the same specs:
4 ms (gray-to-gray extreme), 5 ms (gray-to-gray fast), 8 ms (gray-to-gray normal).I don’t understand why they didn’t bother improving their product?
January 28, 2024 at 7:11 am #75621PCM2That’s quite typical for Dell models outside of their ‘G’ series (G2724D etc.) or some gaming models which have ‘Fast’ as their base setting (usually ‘4ms’ but best to ignore this spec), I’m afraid. ‘Normal’ is like ‘Off’ on most other monitors and then ‘Fast’ is pretty aggressive on those models. Some of their monitors are a bit better than others simply because the panel is natively faster, but I often feel they could do with a setting between ‘Off’ and ‘Normal’ on most models.
